Autumn Topic Map

Our class book this half term is 'Stone Age Boy' by Satoshi Kitamura. We will be working towards writing our own adventure based in the Stone Age.

During the Autumn term we will consolidate our existing knowledge on place value and begin to build on this by gradually extending our understanding of numbers to 3 digits.  We will revisit the  2s, 3s, 5s and 10s timestables and will also be learning 4s and 8s.

Please find some helpful website below. Weekly homework will be on mymaths.

RE learning

This half term our unit is 'Mary Our Mother'. We will be looking at how God called to Mary to be the mother of Jesus and how she responded to his call.

Over the next few weeks we will be looking at skeletons. We will learn about the functions of a skeleton and name and identify bones in a range of animals.

In Geography we will be finding out why people live near volcanoes. We will be looking at the four layers of the Earth and describing how mountains are formed.

In History we will be comparing life in the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. We will look at the different periods including Palaeolithic,  Mesolithic and Neolithic and answer questions using archaeological sources to give evidence.
