I am Miss Small and I am the Year 2 teacher. The Year 2 classroom is a happy place where we love learning

English

Our class book this half-term will be The Dragon Machine. 

The children will write an adventure story based on the book. 

RE learning - Spring 1 - Galilee to Jerusalem

We will be learning about miracles performed by Jesus. We will also find out about his Apostles and why Jesus needed helpers. The children will be able to retell some parables. 

Autumn 2024

English learning

Our class book this half-term is a non-fiction text on the Great Fire of London by Emma Adams and James Weston Lewis. We will be working towards writing our own fact files about the fire. 

Maths learning

During the Autumn term we will be learning about Place Value, Addition & Subtraction and Shape.

Autumn 1

This half-term our unit is 'Creation and Covenant' and we will be learning about the story of Noah and God's promise.  

Autumn 2

In our second unit, Prophecy and Promise, we will be learning about Zechariah and John the Baptist, as well as the Annunciation and Birth of Jesus.
