Mrs Tomlins - Reception Teacher
My first degree was in Hospitality Management and I enjoyed a successful career in hotels, restaurants and industrial catering.
When my daughter started school, I became a parent helper, reading with small groups of children several times a week, helping within the classroom and extra-curricular activities. I enjoyed working with the children, observing their development and progress; it gave me such satisfaction I decided to rethink my future and train to teach.
I am delighted to be a member of staff at Saint Mary’s, working with the Reception children and sharing my love of reading. I enjoy working outdoors with pupils and finding different ways to inspire them.
I love working in the Early Years because every day is different, we learn through play and we always have so much fun!
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, and at weekends I love spending time with my family. Our favourite way to relax is taking our dog Fudge on walks in the countryside.
