Welcome to Year 2!

I am Miss Small and I am the Year 2 teacher. I have worked at Saint Mary's for 10 years now and I love my job. The Year 2 classroom is a happy place where we love learning

We work hard as a team to always do our best, value each other, and be good friends.

Summer Topic Map 2024

English

Our class book for Summer 1 is The Last Wolf by Mini Grey. We will be learning about endangered animals, whilst listening to the story and write our own letters based on saving the trees.

Maths

In Maths this half-term, we will be learning about Mass, Capacity and Temperature. We will also begin work on Fractions.

RE

In RE, our Summer 1 unit is Eastertide. We will learn what happened after the resurrection and know that Jesus came back to his disciples. We will also find out about the Ascension and Pentecost.

Our class book for Spring 2 is 'Major Glad, Major Dizzy' by Jan Oake. We will be learning about historical events from the story and will work towards writing our own diaries from Major Glad's point of view.
