We Will Remember Them

News from Saint Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Belgrave Ave, Congleton, 15.11.19

Not only have our year 6 children sold many remembrance items on behalf of the British Legion, our busy eco team wanted to make some special for Remembrance Day this year.  They challenged the children to make something from recycled materials which would help them all remember those fallen in the wars.
A special assembly was held on Monday 11 November, with the whole school in the hall observing a 2 minute silence at 11am.

Here are some of the amazing items the children made.

School Governor Mrs Patti Pinto, who was at the assembly said, “It was very moving to be at the two minute silence, you could have heard a pin drop in the school hall.  The children had spent lots of time and put a lot of thought into their Remembrance displays.”
