Spring 2013  During eco & school council meetings litter in the school grounds and in town were discussed. What could we do?

School council decided to collect at 3pm each day for 3 days in one week. Showed the whole at Friday assembly what they had collected.

17 June St Mary’s registered with Keep Britain Tidy/the Big Tidy up.

July 19 As part of the Congleton In Bloom project, Year 4 class from St Mary’s went out to Belgrave Ave & across the Tesco car park to collect litter before the RHS judges came to Congleton. Some of the class stayed in school and collected from the school grounds.

Through September to November, lunchtime litter picks by the children have helped clear the school grounds of litter. Litter has been sorted into compostable, recyclable and landfill.
