Autumn Reading Challenge 2015

We hope to instill in our children a love of reading and we encourage them to read as much as possible. Please continue to listen to your children read aloud daily in order to check their understanding of the texts, as well as to increase the fluency with which they read.

During the rest of the Spring term, we will be asking the children to read different genres of book each week in our 'reading mountain' challenge. If the children manage to complete the challenge, in order to reach the top of the mountain they then have to take a picture of themselves reading in an unusual place. These photos will be displayed in school and the children will receive a ‘reading mountain’ challenge certificate. There will be different reading mountains for KS1 and KS2. The children will be able to record their achievements on the reading mountain, which will be given out to each child on Friday.
